Styles of Dance Offered

  • Tippy Toes & Creative Movement

    This class introduces children to a classroom setting. Tippy Toes/Creative Movement provides students the opportunity to learn about rhythm and improve motor skills by introducing the basics of creative dance movement and fundamental ballet techniques. They will focus on following directions, creative movement, imaginative play, basic understanding of music/rhythm and taking turns.

  • Ballet

    Ballet is a classical form of dance focusing on elegant and graceful movements, proper positioning, and the building and maintenance of a strong physique. We instruct in the Vagonova, RAD methods. Pointe work is introduced when the student is deemed ready at the Intermediate Level.

  • Hip Hop

    Hip Hop offers students the opportunity to learn the basic techniques of the urban, street culture style of dancing which focuses on creating a variety of strong physical movements to the beat of music. It is danced primarily to hip hop and pop artists. Students can expect to be challenged in all elements of dance, including breaking which will include movements similar to handstands and floor work.

  • Broadway & Musical Theater

    This is the perfect class for the student who loves the spotlight! This class has three main focuses: acting, dancing, and vocals. Broadway or Musical Theater class is a favorite amongst our students as it provides a great outlet for improv as well as valuable lessons for auditioning in theater.

  • Tap

    Tap dancing allows students to learn the art of making music with their feet through the rhythmic movement of the choreography. This is a unique style since dance steps can be audibly matched to the beat of music.

  • Jazz


    Jazz dancing is an upbeat style of dancing that uses techniques from a variety of dance styles. Students develop skills for stretching, jumping, and floor movements.

  • Modern & Lyrical

    Modern dance employs self-expression and free movement to convey emotions and moods. Techniques from a variety of dance styles, including Ballet, are used to form movements but they are less structured. Lyrical dance is a style that combines elements of Ballet, Jazz and Modern Dance.

2024/2025 Class Schedule

Intermediate and advanced classes are by placement only. New students to BDA please email bozemandanceacademy.com for appropriate placement.

Classes listed with *** will perform in December show ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas. There is an additional performance fee for these classes.

Register for class

  • To begin the registration process, return to your Dance Studio Pro account. For NEW students, please create an account.

  • Returning students can find their class recommendations by logging into Dance Studio Pro and selecting “student” from the account drop down at the top of the page. Click on “notes” on the right side of the student page.

    Please follow your dancer’s class recommendations, keeping in mind it is common to repeat a class level 2 or more times. If you have questions regarding placement, please contact the office.

  • 'Twas is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, December 14th at Gallatin High School Auditorium. Twas full cast rehearsals will be on Saturday, November 23rd and Saturday, December 7th. Dress rehearsal will be on Friday, December 13th.  

    Most pieces will be learned during class time, with the exception of leads. However, at least 2 Saturday rehearsals plus the show weekend will be required. 

    Auditions for LEAD ROLES ONLY will be Wednesday, September 4th from 6:00-7:30pm

    The participation fee ($100 per dancer) allows us to produce this show; including but not limited to, staffing, costuming, lighting, print and production costs etc.  Please note, 'Twas registration fee was reduced this year and will not include the two tickets per dancer. Online ticket sales have been a big success these last couple of seasons, but it did complicate the process for the two included tickets. Ticket sales will be announced in November. 

    When registering for any class marked for participation in 'Twas (***) please make sure that you ALSO REGISTER for 'Twas. This is a separate registration under the "2024 'Twas" tab in DanceStudio Pro. This is a one time fee for the season, so you do NOT need to register per class in the show, just once per student. 

  • To complete your class registration, log in to your Dance Studio Pro account and select “Register for Class” from the account drop down at the top of the page. Above your student’s name select the correct season (2024-2025 SEASON). Select the class you would like to enroll in by checking the box to the left of the class name.

    On this page you can see the monthly tuition for each class, day and time the class meets, a short description and availability. Please note that classes with *** will be performing in the Twas’ the Night Before Christmas show. Please only select this class if you can commit to rehearsal and show times.

    Click Submit and follow the steps to complete the registration. Students are not enrolled until the first month’s tuition and registration fee are paid.

    To confirm participation in Twas and pay the required performance fee, return to the register for class page and click on “2024 Twas” tab above the dancer’s name, check the box to the left of the title and submit. Follow the steps to complete registration.

  • There is an initial registration fee of $45 per dancer or $65 per family with multiple dancers.

    If a dancer is enrolled in a class or classes participating in the Twas show, there is a $100 fee per dancer to cover performance expenses.

    There is a Spring Recital fee per class. The rate schedule for this fee is as follows:

    $85 per class if paid by December 1

    $95 per class if paid by December 16

    If paid after December 16 fee is considered late and is $95 per class

    Monthly payments are due the first week of each month. To pay monthly tuition, log in to your Dance Studio Pro account and select “Pay Online” from the account drop down at the top of the page. You can also set up Auto Pay on this page. Auto pay will be processed between the 1st and 3rd of each month. The studio does not send billing reminders each month, it is the responsibility of the payee to submit their payment on time.

    Payment can be made:

    Online using a credit card with a 2.7% processing fee, online by direct bank transfer with no fee , or in person or mail by check with no additional fee.

    30 Day notice is required to DROP a class.

  • Drop-in rates for an adult class is $17 per class with cash or check at the studio before class. Or, purchase a 10 time punch card $135 on Dance Studio Pro.

    To purchase a punch card, visit Dance Studio Pro and create an account and login. Click on “account” at the top and select “adult punch card”. Purchase your 10 time pass and we will enter your punch after you sign in for class.

    Once you have used all of your punches you will receive an email alerting you that it is time to purchase a new card.

    Drop in/Punch Card rates are for Adult and summer classes only.

Adult-Drop-in rates are $17 per class with cash or check only at the studio before class. Or purchase a 10 time punch card $135 on Dance Studio Pro.
