Audition for Lead Role

5:00–6:00 PM | Dance Audition
6:00–6:30 PM | Speaking/Script Audition

Auditions are for dancers interested in being considered for a lead role.

All dancers auditioning for a lead role will participate in the dance portion from 5:00–6:00 PM. Dancers interested in a speaking role with lines/script will stay for the additional audition from 6:00–6:30 PM. Dancers not interested in a speaking role may leave at 6:00 PM. Dancers must be age 10 or older to audition for a lead role.

Please note that lead roles are limited, and not every dancer who auditions will receive an additional part

Check the BDA class schedule to review classes that will be performing in the holiday show. Classes with ** Next to the name will be performing in the BDA Christmas program “Twas the Night Before Christmas”.

BDA’s Spring Recital is a special opportunity for each class to take the stage, showcase their progress, and share their creativity in a joyful celebration of dance. From first steps to final bows, it’s a moment to shine!

Classes are listed in performance order. Look for your dancer’s class name and teacher to find when they perform.

Dress rehearsal call times are available below. If you have questions or cannot find your classes time please ask your dancers teacher.
- Tech Rehearsal: Tuesday, May 26 (intermediate/advanced dancers in both shows + company dancers)
Tuesday Tech Rehearsal Schedule
- All classes: 45-minute rehearsal window on Wednesday, May 27 or Thursday, May 28 between 4:00–8:30 PM
- Please arrive 10 minutes prior to call time, dressed in costume, stage ready (Please review the recital details page for makeup and hair details).
- Dancers will sit in the theater seats with their class. family is welcome to watch rehearsal and video/take photos form the audience.

- Intermediate/Advanced arrival: 5:00 PM
- Warm-up: 5:05 PM (on stage)
- Volunteers: 5:30 PM
- Dancers: 5:45 PM
- Doors open: 6:00 PM
- Show starts: 6:30 PM
Important Show Rules
- Dancers will NOT be dismissed during the show (including intermission)
- Dancers are released after the final curtain only
- Each class has a backstage volunteer
- Please plan to stay for the entire performance
- Treat this like a full theater experience—your dancer is part of the whole show!
We are looking for volunteers to help backstage, usher, and run concessions. If interested you can sign up through your studio pro account. Please sign up to volunteer by Monday April 20.

All volunteers receive a free recital ticket, please sign up to volunteer before purchasing tickets. Once approved, you’ll receive a promo code by email to enter when purchasing tickets.
Costumes will go home the last week of April/first week of May.
Dancers will receive all costume details from their teacher, including the correct color of tights, shoes and any other costume requirements.

Photo Schedule

Recital Photos – May 4–7

Origin Imagery will be at BDA Studio the week of May 4–7 to photograph each class in their recital costumes. Both class group photos and individual portraits will be taken and available for purchase. Origin Imagery will contact families directly via email with pricing and ordering details.
